Mamajo's Diapers and Pads

• FIT: babies approx. 10-30+ pounds (I can do crossover tabs for newborns too, on request at no cost). It is a trim diaper in the crotch, I can make  it wider on request, if you need it to accommodate larger babies.
• ADJUSTABLE RISE: 13-18 inches  (32-46 cm)
• CROTCH: 6.5 inches (16 cm).  Easily fits insert 5 inches wide (12.5 cm)

• OUTER LAYER made of flannel print.
• MIDDLE LAYER of 1.0 ml fabrite PUL  (polyurethane laminate), which is water resistant and breathable.
• INNER LAYER made of a thick organic bamboo fleece designed specifically for diapers.  One side is double napped bamboo, the other is a moisture wicking polyester (to rapidly disburse wetness).

• TOUCH TAPE CLOSURE FOR MAXIMUM ADJUSTABILITY: Has more gripping power than Aplix or Velcro. Heat sealed edges to prevent unravelling. I use  1.5 inch on both hook and loop sides to increase strength of closure.  If the diaper is to be used on newborns, I can add a loop tape on the outside of the diaper (upon request), to allow crossover tabs  ( I don’t automatically do this, as I find it a bit of an eyesore and could be a bit uncomfortable on the belly of a toddler).
• TURNED AND TOPSTITCHED: Although much more time consuming to make, I prefer these over serged edges.  The finish is sturdier and is softer on baby’s skin.
• SOFT LAUNDRY TABS INSIDE DIAPER: To prevent that long dreaded diaper chain.

• ELASTIC: Polyurethane elastic at the back of the diaper (very light and soft on the skin). Chemical resistant, long life elastic used in the legs. CONTENT: 65 % cotton and 35% natural rubber (unbleached to minimize chemical use). This is sewn between all layers, to prevent red marks on those delicate little legs.
• SNAPS: Professional grade polyacetal snaps used to increase/decrease rise of diaper.
• THREAD: Durable polyester, made in Canada.

The inserts measure approx. 15.5 inches by 4.75 inches wide.They are snappable into the diaper, and you can stack them too by snapping them into each other. Each diaper comes with two inserts. The first is 2 layers of organic bamboo and one layer of zorb*. The second is two layers of organic bamboo and a layer of 100% organic cotton fleece (without the Zorb, this one is more foldable to increase your ability to customize the diaper). This is equivalent, in absorbency, to a whopping 10 layers of flannel- but without all the thickness. Please keep in mind that bamboo needs to be washed several times to reach maximum absorbency.

*Zorb contains only tangled cellulose fibers from bamboo/cotton/viscose and poly micro fiber, the same fibers found in virtually every AIO diaper on the market – nothing else. These fibres are non-allergenic, durable and easy to sanitize . It is manufactured in Canada and the USA, in modern facilities that are safe & friendly for workers and the environment . Zorn absorbs 10x it’s weight in less than half a second- that is 20x faster than cotton, bamboo or hemp. Zorb has incredible holding power too, a single layer holds up to 4 times the moisture of the best flannel.

This bamboo is manufactured in Canada, in small batches using the finest quality yarns (high modulus yarns which absorb more,maintain luster and naturally resist pilling), unlike other imported bamboo fabrics. All the bamboo I use has been tested and cetified to meet Oeko-Tex Class 1 standards (which ensures that it is free of all known harmful substances and is safe for use in babies and children).

GREEN FOR THE EARTH

This diaper can be used as a fitted, an all in two, or a pocket.

• For a fitted, you will stuff the diaper once, and wash  it with the  Snap-In Together(TM) inserts (see picture) snapped in  (no stuffing required each time washed). The beauty of this system is you can adjust the amount of stuffing as the child grows, without having to buy a whole new diaper, as most fitted diapers require you to do.
• For a pocket diaper remove the inserts before each wash. If the diaper is not soiled let air dry and use again. This is especially true of bamboo which does not retain odors. As little as three diapers can be used in one day thus significantly reducing cost.
• For an all in two you can snap in the insert (or not)  and leave it next to the baby’s skin. I will recommend the foldable insert on top for this use (which comes with one snap to hold it to the diaper, the other end is foldable- see pictures). Let air dry diaper and reuse.
